Amalfi coast and Islands - Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri, Ischia, Procida

General description
The Amalfi Coast and the Islands lays in the south western region of Campania, Italy and is a famous tourist area.
The Amalfi Coast is a stunning beauty with its steep sloped lemon tree gardens and coloured terrace houses and stunning views and azure sea. It is south east of Naples starting from Positano stretching almost to Salerno. Along the coast line you will find places like Amalfi, Ravello etc., each of them stunning beauties with their own flair. The Amalfi Coast is a well known secret to German and American tourists and prices are high compared to nearby Naples.

CAPRI
Capri is an Italian island off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples.
Capri is in the region of Campania, Province of Naples. The City of Capri is the main centre of population on Capri. It has two adjoining harbours, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande
Capri is a tourist destination for both Italians and foreigners. In the 1950s, Capri became a popular destination for the international jet set. The central piazzetta of Capri, though preserving its modest village architecture, is lined with luxury boutiques and expensive restaurants. The Villa San Michele was built around the turn of the 20th century, by the Swedish physician, Axel Munthe, on the ruins of the Roman Emperor, Tiberius' villa, on the Island of Capri, Italy.
The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is a noted sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri, Italy. The grotto has a partially submerged opening into the sea, as do other grottoes around the island. Roman emperors with villas on Capri reportedly used the Blue Grotto as a private bath. In modern times, it has become a tourist attraction, with visitors rowed inside to see it. Faraglioni is the collective name for three stacks located off the island of Capri in the Bay of Naples. The stacks have been given their own names: Stella (still attached to the main island), Mezzo (after Stella), and Scopolo (or Fuori).

POSITANO
Positano was a prosperous port of the Amalfi Republic in the 16th and 17th centuries. But by the mid-19th century, the town had fallen on hard times. Positano, also called the "Gem of the divine coast", is probably the most amazing village of the Amalfi Coast and will not fall short of your expectations for its incomparable beauty. It is positioned at the centre of the Gulf, with houses and villas built on terraces, amongst beautiful gardens planted with palm trees, orange and lemon groves.

ISCHIA
Ischia is the largest island in the bay of Naples and is considered by many to be the most beautiful, Several towns are located along the islands coast. The largest city in Ischia is actually (and often confusingly, for tourists) called Ischia. The town of Ischia, however, has two different centers: Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. Chiaia - Forio: the perfect beach for children; Cava dell'Isola: Forio, the most important beach for young people Citara - This beach is at the foot of Epomeo, and is one of the most popular on the island. Bay of Saint Montano: Lacco Ameno. Is a bay where the thermal park Negombo is located. Cartaromana: Ischia Ponte. This beach is located between Castello Aragonese and the Sant’Anna cliffs. The beach also offers one of the best views of the island. Cartaromana is well-known for its natural hot thermal water springs that spill out onto the shore, Spiaggia degli Inglesi: Lovely small beach located in Ischia, suitable for enjoying a peaceful rest, far away from crowds Sorgeto: Sorgeto is a shingle small bay, west of Sant’Angelo Fumarole Beach This beach is supposed to be the island's finest. It's long, wide, clean and not too crowded; it's also of a dark colour, since it's of volcanic origin.

PROCIDA
Procida is a small island near Naples in Campania, Italy Procida is the smallest island of the Gulf of Naples; it is rich in attractions and archaeology. As well, the small island of Vivara, linked to Procida by a bridge, has archaeological excavations. The coast, 14 kms long, appears like a charming, uninterrupted series of promontories, bays and fishing-harbours.
